B&D Sultana No. 3 Tenor –1932

B&D Sultana No. 3 Tenor –1932

Here is an outstanding original Sultana with the preferred ‘bump flange.’  The back of the neck was refinished some years ago. Resonator back and headstock front and back are original and have been cleaned and polished.  Engraving and colors on all the celluloid are original and crisp.   The original gold plating is still very good.  Some original rhinestones are missing from the peghead.  Neck is straight with no warp or twist and the fingerboard shows no wear, with very light fret wear.

This banjo is unusual since it was drilled for a soft pedal mute for a left-hander!   You will notice that the original hole drilled for the mute is on top with the banjo set up as a right-hander. If you are a right-hander who wants the mute installed, I can easily have my machinist drill another hole on the bottom for the mute rod.
